During a recent Time Warner earnings call, CEO Jeff Bewkes compared the BATMAN movie series to the HARRY POTTER film franchise, and hopes to release a long line of sequels...
“We look at 'Harry Potter'. It’s fantastic to have franchises that last that long. We want to do that with Batman and Superman and perhaps Sherlock Holmes. The sequels are as good, with new characters added, as were the originals."
I'm totally down with that. Anyway...
Memo to Warner Bros.: I suspect that the upcoming BATMAN 3 -- or whatever it will ultimately be called -- will be "Team Nolan's" last Bat-Flick. So in picking the next creative team, go out and get a director that 1) Knows and respects the character and the mythos, and 2) Has a vision. Do that, and it's all good.
